Do we have a good chance? (taking landlord to court)?

We moved in aug 2009 a one bedroom 800 a month apartment (h & hw included) we have security receipt and a few other months receipts (he denied us most of our receipts). we left may29th 2010, no lease it was a verbal month to month. we called him to ask for our security back.. and since no answer have taken it to small claims court. we went yesterday and he refused to speak or come to terms with the money he owes us (1600). we went in front of judge and he accused us of being four months behind,, and thats why he did not give it back. we have march, april and mays receipts.. and no balance is stated or said owed on them..and honesty we were up to date. we also have a video if apt as we left it and no damage is to it. He is just doing this to keep the money for false pretenses. he also states the property is under a corporation..wouldnt we have known that coming in if it were true? has anyone went through this or does anyone have advice?
