Out of paintball and Airsoft, which is the cheaper sport to play?

I'm getting bored with FPS games because it's being littered with COD knock offs, so I'm thinking about getting Paintball or Airsoft gun because I've seen videos and both look very fun to do. Plus, I finally want to be able play against someone who isn't British and yelling "AMERICAN!" So which sport is cheaper to play?
