Can Obama stop the FBI?

As a general rule, the President does not involve himself in law enforcement. He does appoint the head and will give direction as to what crimes to focus on. In the Bush administration, Dick Cheney got more forceful with both the FBI and CIA and the results were not that pretty. For example, it was pretty well assumed that Bin Laden would have been captured / killed long ago if they would not have stopped looking for him. z
